Babies & Kids File: Matthew's list

I usually keep Matthew's outfits pretty simple: pocket T's, shorts, and pants in neutral colors like Navy, Gray, khaki, army Green, and White, so when is bedtime I like to "spice" up things with fun pj's like those above, aren't they cute? Is like going to bed in your favorite costume. And those blankies are Matthew's favorite thing, they are incredibly soft and he won't go to bed without one. He has several ones so I always make sure there is one in the car, in his crib, in my handbag, so let's just say that they have become his master card!

From top to bottom (left to right):
Tea Origami Pajamas
GAP Spooky Stripped Sleep Set
GAP Vampire Sleep Set

Tom's Bimini Youth Slip-On
GAP Plaid Cargo Shorts
Old Navy Plain-Front Twill Shorts

Obsession File: EmersonMade

Well I'm pretty sure you all are obsessed with  EmersonMade like I am right? They just nail it with every single item in the collection, and the newest pieces for fall are now available, so go check them out!

Blog Series: In my Makeup bag

This week I have the lovely Liz from Sequins and Stripes.  I found her blog via Alaina's blog Live Creating Yourself (she designed Liz's blog) and immediately fell in love with her style and friendliness, so if you haven't checked out her blog you should!

Are you coveting any make-up bag?
My makeup is currently stored in this Longchamp Le Pliage Cosmetic bag, because it is easy to throw into my workout bag, weekend bag, and wherever else it needs to be. However, I would love a Monogramed Terry Cosmetic Bag from Pottery Barn – so clean and feminine!

Any tip, secret or random makeup thought:
A makeup tip would be this special bottle – Burt’s Bees Radiance Serum. I don’t know what this magical little bottle does but it makes my skin look, well, radiant!

Any particular make-up trend that you're looking forward for fall?
For fall, I am excited to try some new nail polish trends! Black nail polish tends to wash out my skin so I love these new fall colors: Deborah Lipman Billionaire and Single Ladies, Dior Purple Revolution, Essie Going Incognito and Really Red.

Get Liz's favorite products:
> NARS Blush in Orgasm
> bareMinerals Well-rested for Eyes
> Maybelline Full'n Soft Mascara in Very Black
> Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer
> Longchamp Le Pliage Cosmetic Bag
> Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment
> Laura Mercier Eye Pencil
> Burt's Bees Radiance Serum
> Laura Mercier Sequin Eye Color in Tigers Eye and Black Ice

* Thanks so much Liz for participating in the series, I really enjoyed working with you ;)

Happy Weekend!

Temple of Reclining Budha - Bangkok - Thailand
2009

This weekend husband has Saturday off because President Sarkozy is here visiting Koniambo (the mine), so is nice to have him around for a change.

I'm just 1 week away from getting on 3 planes (yikes!) and be in civilization, can't wait! You have no idea how bad I'm looking forward on doing all the small things you get to do on a daily basis, I guess living here makes you appreciate everything on a whole new level, so I know I'll be insanely happy by just doing mundane things like going to the supermarket, having a tea at Starbucks, or just watching TV!

Hope you enjoy these links!:

> Art in the street
> I'm not 100% sure about this, but it is tempting
> A smokey eye step-by-step
> Personalization on a whole new level, the coolest bikes ever
> How the coolest balloons were created
> A modern Hobbit hole
> Cute for a rainy day

Design File: Pauli Coat Rack

Last night internet was down, down, DOWN. So besides not being able to post we couldn't watch a full episode of The Good Wife, have you ever watched it? We're up to date with Entourage, How I met your Mother and Modern Family (and True Blood, but that's only me who watches it) so we are trying something new and so far the show is good.

Internet disaster aside, I'm loving the modern design of this coat rack designed by the Nachacht Studio, isn't it sleek and versatile?

Great Finds: String Theory

Aren't these scarves gorgeous? The grey chevron one got me at first sight, and the black & white would look so beautiful against a colored top, perhaps a red or fuchsia dress? They are designed by two talented textile designers who work in Montreal and you can find more about it (and shop!) right here.

Blog series: In my Makeup bag

This week I'm having my charming friend Chassity Evans from Look Linger Love. I'm pretty sure you all know who she is (I mean she's even a Glitter Guide Girl!), but in case you don't you must head over to her blog, is one of my favorite daily reads ;)

Any tip, secret or random makeup thought:
I'm constantly looking for the perfect mascara (isn't everyone?).  I'm usually just as satisfied with cheaper brands ($10 or less) that I can find at target as I am with the pricier brands of mascara.

How does your night time routine differs from your day time one?
My day makeup routine is usually pretty basic and light.  For night I always amp up my eye makeup and I love a red lip.

Get Chassity's favorite products:
> NARS Pressed Powder
> Neutrogena Healthy Skin Smoothing Stick
> Laura Mercier Sheer Lip Color in Sexy Lips
> Mac Eye Pencil
> Kate Spade Patchin Place Cosmetic bag - currently unavailable, smaller version
> Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Moisturizing bronzing powder
> Benefit Benetint cheek and lip stain in rose
> Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner

*Thanks so much for kicking off the series Chassity! And I hope you all enjoyed learning about Chassity's favorite makeup products, I did!

Trends File: Gingham

I've been seeing lots of gingham shirts lately, haven't you? I have to admit I'm not a big fan of gingham, it's hard to explain but I only like it when it's done in a certain size and definitely not in red (tablecloth comes to mind). But these guys up here are quite nice, and I'm loving the mini skirt!
P.S: Also loving this shirt in navy ;)
P.P.S: Tomorrow I'm starting a new series (very excited about it!) and you really don't want to miss who is kicking it off, she is one of my favorite bloggers! So stay tuned!

> Immensely creative and cute engagement photos.
> I wouldn't mind taking this souvenir with me.
> Maybe I need (want) to test this out.
> I also believe so.
> This DIY is so cool.

> Pretty bottles.

Cool Things File: Chewbeads

Have you ever heard of Chewbeads? Yeap, they are chewable because they are made with 100% silicone so that your baby can safely chew on them. Isn't this idea pretty cool? I remember Matthew used to grab my necklaces, to a point that I had to stop wearing them!

I think this would make such a great baby shower gift, don't you think? They have great gift wrapping options and you can personalize your gift box in whatever combination you want, pretty cool.

Babies & Kids File: Matthew's list

I'm close to 2 weeks away from our R&R which means we have a HUGE list of stuff to get. I won't be hitting the stores for another 6 months or so, so I really have to stock on everything I need and might need. Matthew needs a whole new wardrobe as the size he is currently using (18-24 months) won't fit him for too long I suspect, so above are a couple of my picks!

From top to bottom (left to right):
- Star Wars graphic tee
- Circo short sleeve tee
- Snoopy graphic tee
- Tea Collection Adios Bicicleta tee
- Zara T-shirt with applique
- Zara Polo shirt with printed pocket
- Zara Shirt with pocket
- Zara shirt
- Zara Ripped jeans with braces
- GAP straight jeans
- GAP Slim Cargo Pants
- J.Crew Contrast Stitch Board Shorts
- Zara Stripped Swimming shorts

Obsession File: Motorcycle Boots

Even though I won't get to use them for more than a couple of weeks, I've been looking for the perfect pair of motorcycle boots. I think they add the perfect touch of roughness to any look so If you want to balance out an otherwise overly-ladylike look I recommend you go with these.

After a week of online hunting for the "perfect pair" I think both number 4 and 5 please my "standards" in every way, I'm in love with them and still can't decide which I should get (but I still got plenty of time to decide).

1. Nine West Fango Boot
2. Marc by Marc Jacobs Low Engineer Boot
3. Steve Madden Flankk Boot
4. Jeffrey Campbell Rouges Wrap Strap Booties
5. Jeffrey Campbell Brit Wrap Strap Booties

My life File: Island Discoveries

Remember the weekend we spent here for one of my races? Well, while walking around the hotel we discovered some very interesting facts of The Island. Keep on reading...

Ever since we knew there was a possibility on moving to Kone, New Caledonia, we have always referred to it as The Island and we have always joked that we live in some kind of LOST meets Survivor kind of reality, always mentally prepared to run into Jeff Probst. Well, it turns out there was a Survivor New Caledonia and I got to "relax" at the same spot where the Survivor contestants had to "survive". So here is the proof that I live in such a remote place within such a remote island that it is (and was) Survivor material, how about that? Though the only difference is that we all kind of want to be voted out The Island ;)

Next time someone asks me where do I live, I'll have the right to say: "I survive in Kone"

Obsession File: To Do lists

Well, what a better way to start the week than with a To Do list! I make lists ALL the time: lists for groceries, for To Do's, for packing, for posts that I have to do, posts that I have to upload, lists of ideas, and I can go on and on about all the lists I'm constantly making. I swear I can't function without a list, I need to visualize on paper all the tasks that I must do, it gives me some structure and is the only way I can organize my day, how about you? Are you a To Do lister? And aren't these sheets above adorable? I know I would make great use of them!

PS: Hope you had great weekend! I ran a 10k race on Saturday and came on 3rd at 49:13 not bad for no speed training huh? :)

Happy weekend!

Floating Market - Bangkok - Thailand

Well I just signed up for another race tomorrow, a 10k race here in Kone, on the same path where I usually run so it's nice to know what to expect (I had no idea on what to expect for the other races as they don't give you course details).

I hope you have a great week, today we are 4 weeks away from our R&R (insert a huge excitement face here), can't wait to get off The Island and have some quality time in civilization, there is so much I want to do, buy and eat! So I leave you with a couple of great links around the web. Thanks for stopping by the Vault Files this week!

Fashion File: Flats

Since "winter" started here in New Cal I've been wearing these flats from GAP almost every single day. They are really comfortable, easy to slip on and off, and they just go with everything (and they were only $30!). But I think is time to get some new ones and I've been looking online for their replacement. These are the ones that I'm considering:
PS: I've been looking at boots too (more on that next week!)
