Pretty Chinoiserie Furniture from Guild Master

Going to trade show requires tons of stamina, let us tell you. You usually walk floor after floor of showrooms, and because you don't want to miss everything, you try to stop at almost every single one of them.

Until your eyes glaze over and everything starts to look the same...

At any rate, we saw this line toward the end of our trip at High Point. Although we were dead tired, it caught our eyes and we thought we show it to you. It's Asian and rattan, two things that we normally don't like, but these are done very well.

Here are some examples from the line.

The items run between $1200/per pair for chair to $1800/per pair for barstools. Not too bad for very high quality stuff!

For more information on the line, visit the GuildMaster web site. The site is for the trade only, but it has contact information so that you can be directed to a dealer nearby.

More Hollywood Regency Furniture from Worlds Away

A few years back when we saw Worlds Away for the first time, they only make these funky headboards and table covers. But my, how things have changed. We just saw their new products recently and we were quite pleasantly surprised.

If you are into the Hollywood Recency look, you might like them as well. The furniture is very chic and modern, yet moderately-priced.

Here are pictures for some of them:

This is a great nightstand. It comes in white and brown. Retails for $1095 or so...

Love this cabinet, don't you? Shown here in white, it's available in lime-oak as well. Retails for about $3000.
This is a cute side table/plant stand...
We use this as a console table for the hallway. It also comes in a nickel finish. Retails for about $1200.
This is a nice change from a typical sideboard. We use it as a TV console. Retails for about $2500.

Hollywood Regency Furniture from Worlds Away

We came across this line a while back and thought it was really nice. If you are into the Hollywood Regency look, you might like it.

Here are some products samples. Please forgive the quality of the pictures. They are pretty awful. We can assure you that they look much better in person though.

You can see the rest at Worlds Away's web site. They don't sell to the public-- so if you need help with pricing, drop us a line...

-----------------------

Isn't this console table wonderful? Finished in a polished nickel, it is so sophisticated-looking.

We like this bench set for extra seating...

This is our favorite mirror. It's so glamorous...

We get tons of inquiry on this chest...

This end table is so adorable. The top is in brown glass...

This console is adorable. We've seen it used as a china buffet or a console in a living room. Either way it looks great...

Love this mirror too. It is finished in a polished-white, although you can hardly see it. It's so pretty in person.
A nice change from the typical boring planter...

Unique Upholstery from Haute House

We think it's fun to get something funky sometime, whether it's clothes or furnishings. You know, something that says we are cool; we are hip; we know what's up!

You can do that with furniture. We like having one or two statement pieces that are a bit unusual, a bit out of the ordinary. It's like wearing a pair of killer shoes with a conservative outfit. It shows people that you got style!

Here's a line we found in Las Vegas that makes really fun, really cool furniture. It's called Haute House and it is based out of Los Angeles.

A sample of their products are shown here. If you need help with it, drop us a line, as the company does not sell to the consumer directly.

This banquet has a very high back. It's awesome as a center piece. Can you just see it in a very hip boutique hotel?

Love this chaise. It's very clean-lined & modern.

This is an unique twist on a standard slipper chair.

Isn't this bed awesome?
How about this boudoir-ish sofa?

So Chic, So Cool-The Mercer Collection from Safavieh

We just go back from the Las Vegas Furniture show last week. These shows are usually really fun. It's a chance see new things and old friends.

There are a few vendors that we really like this year. We'll be writing about them in the next few days....

The first vendor you might want to check out is the new Mercer Collection from Safavieh. Known for their rugs, Safavieh has expanded rapidly into furniture the last few years. They are doing a pretty good job with it. Here are a few that we really like (and if you are into the Hollywood Regency look, we think you'll love this collection).

Hollywood Regency

We received so many inquiries regarding our last post on the Hollywood Regency style, we thought we expand on this subject a bit further.

If you are looking for the Hollywood Regency style, Kelly Wearstler is the reigning queen. Her latest project in Miami's South Beach, carries her distinctive look as seen here:

Another designer that does this theme quite well is Jonathan Adler. You've probably seen his lamps and porcelain products everywhere. JA is a bit more fun, more flamboyant and in our opinion, maybe not as refined as Kelly Wearstler is.

Let 's look at a few new products we found at the Las Vegas Market that are great for this look:

This bed from Julian Chichester is to die for:

This nighstand is very refined, very pretty in person:

This bookcase is divine:

Hollywood Regency Style

Hollywood regency, hollywood modern, hollywood retro--these are all the terms that describe the hottest trend in home decorating today. Made popular by Kelly Wearstler of Viceroy, Maison 140 (Palm Spring, Santa Monica) fame, this style involves a lot of mirror, a lot of lacquer, and splashes of bold color. It also makes good use of bold graphics and Asian accessories.

Here are a few items that contribute to this glamorous look:

This mirror was featured in Elle Decor a few issues back.

We love this armoire. It is in black with mirror. In our showroom we show it with a yellow pair of tassels. Awesome!

We also like this bedside table:

And this hallway chest too (it comes in red and black leather).

If you would like to check out the style, a good book to check out is Kelly Wearstler's Modern Glamour, the Art of Unexpected Style She has done an amazing job in this genre Her web site shows her awesome projects.
